Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G minor was composed during the summer of 1788 and is one of only two symphonies Mozart wrote in a minor key. Its urgent opening, graceful melodies and moments of dramatic intensity have made it one of his most instantly recognisable and enduringly popular orchestral works.
