Antonio Vivaldi
Antonio Vivaldi (1678–1741) was an Italian composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher and cleric. Born in Venice, he was recognized as one of the greatest Baroque composers, and his influence during his lifetime was widespread across Europe. Vivaldi wrote numerous concertos and sonatas. His compositional conventions, such as the ritornello form and the three-movement structure, became a musical standard.
