Ayser Vançin
Ayser Vançin is an oboe soloist, influenced by various cultures since her childhood in Istanbul. Her parents were devoted to music and the fine arts and led her to conceive a passion for visual and stage art. While at school she played the oboe, piano and violin. Later she studied harmony and composition at the Istanbul Academy of Music where she graduated with distinction.
The French government offered her a scholarship and she graduated from the “Ecole Normale Supérieure de Musique d’Alfred Cortot” in Paris (performance diploma and bachelor’s degree in concert, both with distinction). She then won the first prize in virtuosity at the Geneva Academy of Music. Ayser Vançin received her musical grounding from the great musicians: C. Akatlar in Istanbul, L. Debray for the oboe and C. de Brunhoff for the piano, J. Lancelot for chamber music in Paris and R. Reversy in Geneva for the oboe. She also attended masterclasses with P. Pierlot and H.Holliger.
For many years, she has taught oboe and chamber music at the “CPMDT” of Geneva where she also gave master classes. Ayser performed with the State Orchestra of Istanbul and Geneva Collegium Academicum as well as participating in numerous international festivals including performances in Paris; (Sorbonne and UNESCO concerts). Ayser has performed for French, Swiss and Turkish radio and television stations and appeared in different groups as a soloist in several European and North Africa countries.
As a composer, Ayser Vançin’s output includes works for chamber music, songs, solo instruments as well as music for theater: throwing a bridge between music and literature in order to link these arts and to convey emotion through sounds, words and colours. Her last creation is “D’exil en Exil” on the poetic work of Nazim Hikmet.
She is the prizewinner of the International Oboe Contest in Stresa (Italy), the “Lyceum International Oboe Contest Award”/Switzerland, the “Fondation of Pierre Gianadda Award” Chamber Music of Martigny — Switzerland and the “Best Music Award” at the International Theater Festival 2017 of Zagora (Morocco) for the musical theatre production of D’exil en Exil.
