Paul Nevins
Paul Nevins studied trumpet with John Dickinson in Manchester before entering the Royal Academy of Music where his professors were William J. Overton (trumpet), Mildred Litherland (piano) and Maurice Miles (conducting). He completed his PhD in 2018 based at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire supervised by Professors Peter Johnson and Ronald Woodley. Paul has taught at all levels of education from primary school to university and has been the trumpet teacher at Keele University since 1993.
As a freelance trumpeter Paul has performed with the Hallé Orchestra, English National Opera and Welsh National Opera in addition to numerous freelance orchestras and theatrical productions. He has been active in examining since 1999 working for OCR, the Guildhall Examination Board, and Trinity College London since 2007.
