Roy McCormack sang and played the flute at school. He was awarded both a music degree from the University of Wales and a PGCE from Manchester since when he has taught music in secondary schools for many years. Roy also teaches the flute privately and conducts various ensembles, choirs and orchestras in North Yorkshire where he now lives.
Although his musical training has been formal, he has also played the electric guitar since the age of 16, and played in several rock and blues bands over the years. Roy frequently works with students in school to help them set up rock bands and learn valuable techniques like improvisation, ensemble balance and song writing.
