Edward Maxwell was born and brought up in Birmingham and gained a music degree at Sussex University, followed by a postgraduate performers’ course at the Royal College of Music. He enjoys a busy and varied career as a freelance trumpet player, teacher, composer, arranger, writer and examiner.

Ed Maxwell lives in Surrey, is married to Sian and has four children — Ben, Oli, Elin and Tess. He enjoys mountain biking in the Surrey Hills and watching Aston Villa Football Club.
