Caroline Franklyn

Caroline Franklyn studied flute and piano at Trinity College of Music. She performed all over the country with various chamber groups, as a solo recitalist, and for many years she toured with the harpist Sioned Williams. Caroline also taught the flute in schools and privately, and at the City Literary Institute, developing a strong interest in teaching adults. In 1993 she founded the Palace Band — a large adult woodwind ensemble which rehearses near Alexandra Palace, London — for which she arranged many pieces, such as Telemann’s The Hunt. Caroline is now retired and lives in Deal in Kent, where she supports the Deal Festival of Music and Arts. She is actively involved in local life, including walking other people’s dogs.
