Karen Evans

Karen Evans graduated from Bangor University (under the tutelage of composer William Matthias) and embarked on a successful freelance teaching and playing career on the flute, including teaching at the Junior Welsh College of Music and Drama, Wells Cathedral School and the Sherborne Schools, and for 17 years was Professor of Flute at The Royal Marines School of Music; playing included performances with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Sinfonietta, many musical shows and chamber ensembles.
 
She was awarded Masters level degrees from Trinity College of Music and a HE PGCE from the University of Southampton.  Since 2004 Karen has been the Academic Professor at The Royal Marines School of Music, training young professional musicians and is a Partner Associate Lecturer of the University of Lincoln, tutoring and lecturing on a music degree course in harmony, arranging, composition and music history.
