13 Scary Minutes for String Quartet
Written in an advanced contemporary style, this string quartet is suited to experienced students and professional players. Its five movements alternate between reflective and vigorous moods, drawing throughout on a small group of recurring melodic and harmonic ideas.
At the heart of the work is a deeply expressive inverted canon, first shared by Violin I and Cello, then passed to Violin II and Viola.
Originally composed in 1982, the work was revised and newly engraved in 2026.
Mutes are required for all instruments.
