Symphony No. 8 Simplified and Abridged
These arrangements preserve the character and essential spirit of each great work, while presenting the music in a form that is comparatively brief and approachable at the piano. All movements are represented, although each has necessarily been abridged and carefully adapted to provide an enjoyable and rewarding introduction to each celebrated masterpiece.
Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 in G major was composed in 1889 and first performed in Prague the following year, conducted by Dvořák himself. Warm, joyful and full of invention, the symphony evokes the natural beauty of the Bohemian countryside through birdsong-like melodies, lively dances, glowing lyricism and a thrilling trumpet-led finale.
