A selection of easy, unaccompanied, well-known tunes from the classics, arranged for solo flute, oboe or clarinet by the late Simon Hunt. This collection was first published in 1984 and was very popular on the UK exam syllabuses for many years. This new edition, which irons out some of the foibles of the orginal hand engraved edition is redesigned to include beautiful new typesetting and a fresh cover: a tribute to Simon Hunt.
Simon Hunt wrote: "The object of this collection is to introduce the player of moderate standard, to some of the beautiful melodies to be found in the ballet, operatic, symphonic and instrumental repertoire. Through the enjoyment of playing these melodies, it is hoped to foster a sense of phrasing and a natural development of the sound. I have left breathing marks to the discretion of the player or teacher. "
