This is a book for viola students in their first few years of learning.
Pieces 1 to 3 are intended for those at about Grade 1;
Pieces 4 to 6 are for those working at Grade 2;
Pieces 7 to 9 suit those at Grade 3.
My pupils see a duet as a treat and, if I’m honest, I look forward to those bits of our lessons too. Maybe you feel the same? For that reason, the viola 1 part can be accompanied either by
- Another violist playing the Viola 2 part
Or
- A pianist playing the pull-out piano part
