Concert Studies for unaccompanied trumpet were written in February 2010 to provide trumpeters with fresh, interesting and challenging pieces to fill a gap in the solo trumpet repertoire.

Compositionally they are intended to work as a fusion of solo pieces for a recital and private technical studies so they can work in both the concert hall to showcase virtuosity and as private practise for the player.
