The One, Two… Me and You series of piano duets have been gradually evolving over a large number of years. Many of the pieces were written for my pupils to play in concerts and festivals. I love to encourage my young pianists to play duets, either with me, their friends or other family members.
Practising piano solos can be quite a lonely process so duetting is a wonderful way to make things a little more fun. It’s sometimes rather nice to not be all alone on stage when performing in front of an audience too!
Throughout the three books there is a wide range of musical styles to explore – from rock to reggae, fanfares to five/four, jazz to jigs or blues to ballads.
The pieces are also packed full of many necessary pedagogical and technical skills needed to become a competent musician and pianist.
Thanks to all of my wonderful pupils, both young and older, for testing out the material over the years. A huge thank you to my partner Chrissy for the amazing cover designs. Also many thanks to Mark Goddard at Clifton Edition for believing in this project and enabling it to finally get into print.
