The Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano was composed in 1983, for Christopher Craker, and was performed at the Stroud Festival in 1988.

Mary Chandler’s music is challenging but very rewarding to play and to hear. As a professional wind player, she shows understanding of the player, but makes demands of them which yield richly pleasing results.
