Theme and Shenanigans was composed in 1976 as ‘Theme and Variations in D minor’ (Op. 12) and premièred in the duet version in the UK market town of Windsor, with Janette Creber and Mark Goddard at the piano. The work was revised in September 2018 and initially published by EVC Publications Limited in 2023 but subsequently withdrawn by the composer and placed with Clifton Edition in 2026.
The ‘Theme’ in D minor: simple and robust, is followed by five contrasting variations concluding with the Finale: a rampant jazz influenced rhythmical romp!
This edition presents the work in two versions: for piano solo and for piano duet.
