Carmen Ehinger

Carmen Ehinger was born in Southern Germany (Black Forest). She has been playing many different instruments since childhood: recorder, flute, piano, classical guitar and church organ, later in life joined by accordion, hurdy gurdy and celtic harp. She studied at the Music Academy of Stuttgart, and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis at Basel (Switzerland) For several years now, she has been a teacher at the Schola Cantorum and as director of “Canto Vivo”, a choir specialized in the performance of ethno-music.

She also teaches highly motivated amateur groups (Klezmer and Balkan music), writing many arrangements for them.
