Graham Sheen

Graham Sheen (b. 1952) has enjoyed a wide ranging career as bassoonist, teacher, composer and arranger. Graham was principal bassoonist of both the BBC Symphony Orchestra 1983-2017 and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields 1976-2016. He has appeared extensively as soloist with both orchestras. In 1979 he became professor of bassoon at the Guildhall School of Music, where he continues to coach chamber music and orchestral repertoire. He regularly acts as a visiting teacher and examiner at all London’s conservatoires. Graham’s published works include over fifty arrangements and original works, and several graded albums and studies for bassoon and bassoon ensemble. His music for young bassoonists feature extensively in the Associated Board Syllabus. He has recorded two solo CDs for SFZ Music.
