PDF Products – Terms & Conditions
This page gives important information regarding the terms and conditions under which any PDF sheet music file (“PDF Score”) purchased from Clifton Edition Ltd. via our exclusive distributors Stainer & Bell may be used. By purchasing this PDF Score you are accepting and agreeing to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.
In brief: Your purchase allows you to print or share this PDF internally with your choir or ensemble, up to the number of copies purchased, for rehearsal and performance only.
Overview
In order to view or print the PDF Score, you will need PDF-reading software such as the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Under this licence:
- You may store and access the PDF Score on your own devices and make reasonable back-up copies to avoid losing it.
- You may print and/or internally share the PDF Score with members of your own choir or ensemble, up to the number of copies purchased, for the purposes of rehearsal and performance.
- Internal sharing may include use on digital devices (such as tablets or laptops) by authorised members of your choir or ensemble.
- You may not transfer, sell, loan, upload, or share the PDF Score (or any copy of it) with individuals or groups outside the purchaser’s choir or ensemble.
PDF Score Licence Agreement (Full Terms)
This Licence Agreement allows the Purchaser to download, store, and access the PDF Score on the Purchaser’s own devices and to make reasonable back-up copies of the PDF Score to avoid loss.
The Purchaser may print and/or internally distribute the PDF Score to members of the Purchaser’s own choir or ensemble, solely for rehearsal and performance, provided that the total number of printed and/or digitally shared copies does not exceed the quantity purchased.
The Purchaser must not exceed the licensed quantity, whether through printing, digital distribution, or a combination of both, without purchasing additional licences.
Each authorised copy, whether printed or used digitally, will be automatically watermarked with the Purchaser’s name, email address, and the number of copies purchased, as part of the licence conditions.
The Purchaser undertakes to ensure that the PDF Score is not retained, shared, or reused beyond the licensed quantity or outside the Purchaser’s choir or ensemble.
All content in the PDF Score is protected by UK copyright law. Clifton Edition Ltd owns or administers the copyright and retains ownership of the PDF Score and all copies of it. Except as expressly permitted by this Licence Agreement, the Purchaser may not copy, print, modify, adapt, publish, transmit, sell, resell, create derivative works from, or otherwise exploit the PDF Score, in whole or in part, nor permit others to do so.
In particular, the Purchaser shall not:
Rent, assign, distribute, or transfer the PDF Score or any rights granted by this Licence Agreement to any third party;
Duplicate the PDF Score beyond the licensed quantity;
Remove or alter any copyright notices, proprietary markings, or licence stamps;
Transfer or sublicense the PDF Score to any other person or organisation.
This Licence Agreement grants the Purchaser limited rights of use only. Ownership of the PDF Score and all intellectual property rights remain with Clifton Edition Ltd. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
The PDF Score is supplied “as is”, without technical support or warranty of any kind, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Clifton Edition Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage, including loss of profits or business, arising from the use of the PDF Score. This limitation of liability forms a fundamental part of this Licence Agreement.
This Licence Agreement is governed by the laws of England.
Printing Tip
If you decide to print out the score, ensure that the “fit to page” setting is selected. This will expand the notation to fill the page of your default paper size (e.g. A4 or Letter).
