Website Upgrade!

We are delighted to unveil a major upgrade to the Clifton Edition website, designed to make exploring our growing catalogue quicker, clearer and more enjoyable.

Behind the scenes, our Brunel publishing database system has become the master source for the website.

Publication details—including descriptions, contents, reviews, composers, sample pages, audio clips and related titles—can now be maintained in one place and synchronised with CliftonEdition.com.

This helps us keep the information online accurate, consistent and up to date.

Newly redesigned publication page

Individual publication pages have been refreshed with a cleaner layout and clearer presentation. Cover images, product details and descriptions sit alongside convenient links to composers, related publications, other works in the same series and further music for the relevant instrument or genre. Sample pages can be enlarged and browsed as a gallery, while audio examples and accompanying downloads are presented directly on the page.

Navigation has also been greatly improved. Previous and Next buttons make it easy to browse through a set of results, while the central List View button returns visitors to the same page of the catalogue from which they started.

'Previous', 'List View' and 'Next navigation' buttons

Catalogue listings can now be sorted in several useful ways, including by

  • title
  • catalogue number
  • publication date
  • price
  • popularity.

Instrument

all share the same clear format, with page totals and straightforward pagination for longer lists.

Composer pages have also been enhanced.

Visitors can

  • browse composers alphabetically,
  • read their biographies
  • and discover their Clifton Edition publications,

with the most popular titles presented first and a link to view the complete list where appropriate.

The new system will also support future publication launches. New titles can be prepared carefully in Brunel and released to the website as a complete, checked batch, while ordinary corrections and improvements can be synchronised without rebuilding pages by hand.

The result is a website that looks more consistent, provides richer information and makes our catalogue considerably easier to explore.

We hope you enjoy discovering it!
